Hotel Vida, The Home of Widus Vacation Club Part 1 of 2

Brian was invited to be the photographer for his friend’s mom’s 60th birthday in Pampanga for June 27th. Since it’s on the weekend, it’s more likely that I will be with him. We planned to go there a day earlier and have our post-monthly celebration. A hotel accommodation is a must since the main event falls on a Sunday. I barely knew any hotel in the area aside from the old villas for rent and old hotels.

Lucky enough while I was googling, I found a new hotel and vacation club right smack in the middle of Clark Freeport Zone.

June 26, 2010 Saturday

Brian and I can probably join the next Amazing Race challenge since we’ve been practicing rushing and turbo-ing (our own lil term) each and every time we will go out. We love it like that. Kidding! We are just two slow-moving creatures and always rushing to make our way to whatever event on time (or at least we try to but mostly we are late). Just like today. We planned to hop on the bus for their 11am schedule but we needed to grab some stuff in the groceries first.

One of the bus lines that goes to Pampanga daily is Partas Bus Lines. After picking up some stuff, we went to their Aurora, Cubao terminal and got the 11:30am schedule. Phew! That was a lot of rushing this early morning. I told you we can totally join the Amazing Race!

After eating our chocolate-y breakfast on the bus, we took a nap and surprisingly it took us EXACTLY 1.5 hours to get to DMIA (Diosdado Macapagal International Airport).

Aside from the over-priced airport cabs there are air-conditioned jeep that took us to the hotel for Php250 for the 5-minute ride. (This is the downside if you don’t bring your own car.)

It was just the two of us in this huge jeep!

Few minutes later…

Welcome to Hotel Vida!

Sitting on 1.9 hectares of land in Clark, Pampanga, rise an upscale 125-room deluxe hotel, Hotel Vida.  It is envisioned to be dynamic and leader in the market because of its commitment to all-in-one luxury amenities, design and services offered to guests.

Hotel Vida’s façade garners compliments for its unique modern tropical theme, emphasized by its earth tone colors and highlighted by its abundant water features, lush landscaping crowned with majestic acacia and palm trees.

{ Sundry Shop }

After few minutes of waiting at the lobby area, we were given our key card for the Deluxe room! And before we rummage our hotel room, a photo op of the clean, pretty little nest is a must.

Hooray for rain shower head!

A little refrigerator is hiding inside that little cabinet.

Truly, Hotel Vida guests rooms are equipped with state-of the-art amenities.

Then our little old-new tradition began.

Jumping on bed!

This was hilarious and so much fun! I really enjoyed tiring ourselves jumping on this hotel bed. *grins*

Catching my breath from all those jumping. Phew!

And look, we have a balcony! Really cool.

Guest rooms offer a view of the adjacent golf course or swimming pool and well-manicured landscape.

It was past 3pm when we noticed our tummy growling from hunger. Time to feed ’em!

Good thing the hotel offers a shuttle service to SM Clark and back. And again, the shuttle only drove the two of us to the mall. So much tourist-y feeling. Much needed and much appreciated.*smiles*

We were so hungry and we spotted Classic Savory which we’ve been planning to try in Manila.

And what else will we order? Of course, their chicken!

{ Fish fillet with tartar sauce }

{ Pancit Canton }

{ Special Turon }

For a good few minutes all we can think about while eating is how much we missed eating. I loved their chicken, it somehow tastes like Max’s but something else. The fish fillet is OK too but a bit dry. And although they pride themselves with their Pancit Canton, I didn’t like it that much. For their Special Turon, where’s the special in that again? It lacks sweetness or perhaps it’s because I naturally have a sweet tooth.

Nonetheless, their chicken is a must try.

Roaming around SM Clark while waiting for our shuttle service.

We just have a thing with carousels.

{ Obra Manika }

These dolls are just a pretty little sweet thing. And their dollhouse, cuteness!

Hello, Barbie!

{ Me and my awkward smile. Ha! }

I was relieved when we got back to the hotel. It was a pretty busy week and a tiring morning and I plea for some much needed R&R.

Strawberries covered in chocolate dip has been in my mind for a few days now. Today’s the day to succumbed to my cravings.

Thanks to my B for his patience in melting the semi-sweet chocolate chips to become this chocolate dip. Perfect with the strawberries!

{ Sweetest Little Strawberry }

THE perfect way to cap off the evening – enjoying grapes & strawberries in chocolate dip while relaxing in a hot soak bath.
