Cookbook Kitchen Experience

June 25, 2010 Friday

Two of my Dele friends, Michelle and Lawrence, celebrated their birthdays this month of June. We also have been planning to meet up with the rest of the group after most of them left our office few months ago, but it never materialized.

As I suspected, birthdays are always a good excuse to meet up. Before I knew it, it’s already time to celebrate and hang out with my fun fun friends.

Here’s celebrating life, good food and friendship in photos.

{ Interiors at Cookbook Kitchen. A secret homey restaurant in Mandaluyong. It is my first time here and I am getting excited as I anticipated the tastes of our orders. }

{ With the Birthday Girl who calls waiters as “Mister” }

{ …and the Birthday Boy! }

{ Who’s drinking tonight? Not me. }

{ “Looking for the ‘Mister’?” }

{ Jhomer. Thanks for joining us tonight! }

{ Birthday boy’s wing men, Felix & Mike }

Since my B and I were a little behind the rest of the gang, we missed some of the appetizers they ordered like Champignon with Caramelized Onions and Parmesan Herbed Fries. Awww, too bad! (Will try it next time we go back!) But we tried this..

{ Seafood Basket with onion rings and dip }

After appetizers, the food just started pouring on our table, literally.

{ Forgot how it’s called but it’s a fusili in white sauce with mozzarella cheese }

{ Pesto Di Basilico. Linguine with sweet basil and pine nuts. }

{ Parmesan-Crusted White Fish. Rich, succulent and baked to perfection. }

{ Honey Mustard Pork Steak. Grilled pork steak in light soy with rosemary and spices served with honey mustard sauce. }

{ CBK Chicken. Chicken breast fillet with cheese, ham & basil stuffing served with pesto and roasted tomatoes. Love this! }

{ First time Brian met this set of friends. How cool is that? }

{ Tin, you made it! }

{ Birthday celebrants with their free Strawberry Ice Cream. Sweet! }

{ Now it’s time for desserts! Strawberry Shortcake Overload. }

{ Kittin’s Scarlet Cake }

“I get by with a little help from my friends.”

“True friendship is a plant of slow growth, and must undergo and withstand the shocks of adversity before it is entitled to the appellation.”
– George Washington

Happy happy birthday Mi and Law!!! We wish you all that your hearts desire.

Thank you for the sumptuous treat, for sharing laughter, for celebrating friendship and for the fun!

I think we should do this again.

And thanks, my Brian, for joining and meeting my friends and for capturing these special moments. Much much love everyone!
