Sizzling Pepper Steak and side story

In lieu of our little monthsary celebration, we planned to go on a picnic at La Mesa Ecopark. With recipes prepared in my head such as Monte Cristo sandwich, chocolate covered strawberries, fresh fruits esp grapes and probably my favorite Nestea iced tea or lemonade.

Plans changed though and we agreed to re-schedule this little picnic of ours. We are also beat because we spent last night hanging out with our couple friends with my latest favorite alcomix drink, Tanduay Ice, in hand. It has the right alcohol, right sweetness and good mouth feel. It’s like I’m drinking Sprite with just a few drops of alcohol. I prefer this more than the usual crowd favorite beer that has its bitter taste.

Fast forward to Sunday morning, we got up few times to rehydrate ourselves with water and stuff our tummy with some food. But the rest of the day were spent sleeping on the couch. None of our plans were accomplished. Still, spending time catching up on Zzz can’t be a bad thing, right?

It’s about 3 or 4 in the afternoon when our body decided to finally wake up. So off to MOA we go!

{ at Sizzling Pepper Steak, MOA branch. it’s our 2nd time to eat SPS. first was at their Eastwood branch during earth hour, i think. }

{ this resto has a unique manner of ordering. the server will provide an order slip to diners as soon as they’re seated. the diners will be the one to choose their orders on the itemized menu list. the ‘moo-flip’ should be on STOP red while you are choosing your orders so the attendant won’t go to your table yet and flip it to MOOOOVE green if you’re ready with your orders. }

They use an oval sizzling plate for cooking the meat on the spot with the usual side dish such as thinly sliced carrots, string beans, baby corn and togue.

{ his: herbed chicken steak. seasoned with choicest herbs, brushed with garlic butter and served in a warm iron skillet. Php162 }

{ hers: gravy hamburg. classic hamburg steak served with traditional gravy sauce. Php125 }

These steaks didn’t come with rice so we ordered sizzling pepper rice (not pictured) but it’s so so good.

It satisfied my hunger and cravings for meat and I must say I enjoyed our food up to the last bite. This made up for a very lazy Sunday. We’ll surely come back for more.
