Joey Pepperoni Pizzeria Experience

One Saturday, B and I went out for some afternoon stroll in Cubao. Since it was almost 12 noon, we decided to look for a resto we haven’t tried. Inside SM Cubao, we spotted Joey Pepperoni Pizzeria. It’s new for both of us so we gave it a go.

Joey Pepperoni Pizzeria is a casual dining restaurant that specializes in its distinctive Italian-American cuisine.

Their huge sign on the right wall will greet you as you enter the resto. Their location in this mall is quite small. If I’m not mistaken, they can cater to more or less 20 to 30 people. But the glass walls makes it look spacious and bright inside.

Paper lantern above our table.

Pesto. Traditional pesto sauce with beans and potatoes.

Others on the plate. Garlic bread and breaded Mozzarella sticks served with Pomodoro dip.

Iced Tea.

Pizza – The Works. Smoked ham, pepperoni, bacon, salami, mushrooms, ground beef, onions, bell pepper, and olives.

We both agreed that their food is quite good. Except for their pasta noodles – it’s not al dente nor overcooked but we noticed that there’s something different to it.

Overall, it was a pleasant experience until…

We had fun taking photos in front of the mural outside the resto. Then a guy who introduced himself as Roy – Area Manager(?), came to us to ask where are we going to use the photos. He was not convinced even if we said it’s for our personal use and came back to us for the second time to ask us to delete the photos! Yes, he came back twice. Can you believe?!

That to me is absurd and totally inappropriate.

We sweetened things up with a yummy treat – Gonuts Donuts!
